Jen and I went to San Francisco recently. We spent an afternoon and evening on a picture scavenger hunt and just hanging out and having fun. One of the pictures needed was a double decker bus.

While visiting my brother and his family in Huntington Beach, we went to a Christian concert on the beach.

Here is a gentleman we met on a trip. He is over a hundred years old and has had 10 wives and 30 children over the years. He said that he could name all of his grandchildren if we had a paper and pencil to keep track.

Different boat on another research trip, but I'd say it is this guy's first time on a boat. (not the man, the cow).

On the bus to get to the boat, probably not the chicken's first time on the bus.

Posted by Aly at 11:35 AM

Luggage on same boat

People on the boat to the Kisi people group

Posted by Aly at 11:31 AM

When visiting the Iraqw people group, I was invited to share a meal with these sisters.

Posted by Aly at 11:22 AM

Elizabeth's older sister, Amina was baptized. I was blessed to be present and celebrate with her. She is and will be a great witness to those around her, including Elizabeth.

Even though I am in the States, I found some pics from traveling that I wanted to share. This one is of Morisia carrying one of the gifts we received on our travels - sugar cane.

Into the ditch,

Posted by Aly at 6:49 AM

Down the mountain,

Posted by Aly at 6:45 AM

Over the river,

Posted by Aly at 6:41 AM

Not making a mountain out of a molehill, but this is a termite mound.

Posted by Aly at 6:38 AM

and zebras, Oh my!

Posted by Aly at 6:32 AM

a hyena,

Posted by Aly at 6:28 AM

Ostrich,

Posted by Aly at 6:25 AM

We later passed through the Serengeti. Although we didn't see lions, tigers and bears (Oh my!). We did see wildebeest,

Posted by Aly at 6:23 AM

On one of our recent trips we circled Mount Kilimanjaro. I have to say the Kenya side is pretty awesome.

Posted by Aly at 6:12 AM

This is my favorite use of a kanga.

Posted by Aly at 6:07 AM

Kangas are twisted, wrapped in a circle and placed on the head in order to make carrying heavy loads easier to balance.

Posted by Aly at 6:04 AM

The ladies and I are wearing kangas. They are brightly colored pieces of material which have many uses. This time they are aprons; we are ready to start cooking.
