Alas, it was time to return home.

But I thought they were pretty cool.

My camera took some pretty odd pictures.

We watched the fireworks from a tall building in Huntington Beach. Because it was in the LA area and pretty much every town had a display of their own, there were fireworks in every direction.

Three generations of Siders men.

We even had a bon fire. Gotta go early to get a good spot. Here's the lunch crowd.

And Ed's pre-season football practice. He is in center, black shorts with red and white stripe

We went to Calvary Chapel's 4th of July picnic.

Here's a great pic of Maria and Edward

Me and Ed...Just like the pizza guys.

Dad and I were able to go down to Huntington Beach to visit my brother, Greg and his family. This is Dad, Maria, Joswe, and I.

And well, here's Dick working hard, too.

Mark working on the trash situation.

Here's Julia working on the flower beds.

Some of the youth pitched in painting.

We had a great church beautification day. Tree trimming - I also got to use that chainsaw! Scary...that is for everyone else, including the trees.

Here's one of my favorite pics of Philip, Esther and me.

Apple uglies - made from whatever's left over.

Here is Esther 'stirring' the apples and cinnamon.

Stuffing is ready for the bird.

In addition, olive fingers are also necessary.

Back at Christmas time, Esther and I made stuffing and baked pies at Dad's house. The stuffing recipe, handed down through the cooks of the family, is very specific. You must cut the bread 7 times in each direction.
